Tourism to benefit from T20 final
Kensington Oval and by extension, Barbados will host its third World Cup Cricket final albeit in different formats. In reacting to the announcement today Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley called it a testament to the high level of organisation Barbados has displayed over the years. She pointed to the preparations already taking place to ensure that the thousands who gather on the island from across the globe experience a safe, enjoyable and successful final. Certainly, the spinoffs from this global event will redound to the local economy, one of the primary benefactors is tourism. The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association has also been reacting to the official release of the fixtures and news that Barbados will host the World Cup Cricket final. Chairman Renee Coppin tells CBC they are delighted with the arrangement. Ms. Coppin says they are also very happy about being awarded the group that includes England.
