‘Tragic figure’: Deputy PM in hot water following Middle East tensions

The Australian Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan has slammed Australia’s Minister for Defence Richard Marles calling the Deputy Prime Minister a “tragic figure”. “Richard Marles, I think has become a tragic figure,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “He markets himself as a defence hawk and a lifelong friend of Israel. “If the only thing standing between you and disaster was Richard Marles' courage and fidelity to friendship, you’d be in a bad way.”
