Over the course of the next 14 years, an amazing transformation took place: the martial arts novice from the U.S. metamorphosed into a fully-fledged 16th-generation inheritor of the Wudang Sanfeng Sect. In order to achieve this feat, he had to do more than simply master martial arts: his task was to do nothing less than discover the very essence of Wudang and imbibe the wisdom of Taoist culture. Finding inner peace and self-acceptance in Wudang, he eventually decided to settle at the foot of Wudang Mountain and start a family, all the while sharing Wudang martial arts and Taoist culture with the wider world.
