Transportation remains an issue for amputees
Transportation remains an issue for amputees, especially wheelchair users, on the island. Mindful of this, one local organisation, the Rehabilitating and Enabling Society for Aamputees is on a fundraising drive to secure its own vehicle to assist its members. The fundraising drive is set for December 7 at the Barbados Council for the Disabled, located at the Garrison. Public Relations Officer, Tonia Holder Springer says the organisation needs a bus. She was a guest on CBC TV8's Mornin' Barbados. Ms. Holder-Springer continues her advocacy for amputees, noting while it's difficult to lose a limb, there's life after amputation.
