Trial begins in Toronto for man accused of kidnapping 14-year-old boy

A trial is now underway in Toronto for a man accused of abducting a 14-year-old boy in 2020 as retribution against the teen’s older half-brother. The Crown alleges Sam Abdelgadir planned the abduction after the teen’s half-brother stole nearly $4 million in cocaine from drug traffickers. A former co-accused testified Friday that his former friend had confided in him days before the abduction. Global’s Catherine McDonald reports.
