A U.S. official says Israel has "basically accepted" a proposal for a temporary pause in the fighting in Gaza. The U.S. has delivered 38,000 meals in its first airdrop of aid into the embattled enclave, but aid agencies say U.S. efforts would be better spent pushing Israel to open more land crossings and secure humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, 200 lawmakers from 13 countries are calling for an arms embargo on Israel.
