Tropical system likely to form in Caribbean this week
FOX 13 Meteorologist Jim Weber is still watching an area across the Caribbean that will likely develop over the next week. However, it is unclear how strong it will be and where it will go. Weber says conditions are favorable because of low wind shear and warm waters. Once something does develop, computer models show it moving toward the north and northeast. However, some models have it pushing back toward the Gulf of Mexico. Weber notes that waters in the Gulf of Mexico have cooled a bit, which would weaken the system.
