Trudeau having “lots of conversations” with MPs amid questions over leadership

Speaking in Montreal, Que., on Wednesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he is having “lots of conversations” with Liberal MPs following the party's disappointing loss in Toronto-St. Paul’s, a former Liberal stronghold. “There are, as always, a range of perspectives and voices within the Liberal Party and listening to all those voices and giving them all time to engage is really, really important,” he said, adding that he’s taken calls from MPs across the country. Trudeau’s comments come as some Liberal MPs and a former cabinet minister in recent days have called for him to resign in the wake of the byelection upset.
