Trump's win sparks concern in Latin America over China ties, immigration and potential sanction
Donald Trump's election victory has stirred concerns in Latin America. Analysts predict he will pressure the region to reduce ties with China without offering economic benefits in return. Immigration remains a contentious issue, particularly for Cubans and Venezuelans facing potential sanctions. Left-wing governments in Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, and Brazil are wary of Trump's protectionist policies, such as raising tariffs on Brazilian imports. Argentina's President Javier Milei, however, welcomes Trump's conservative stance. While opinions on Trump's victory are mixed, many in Latin America worry the region will not be a priority for the new administration. Al Jazeera’s Lucia Newman Reports from Santiago, Chile.
