Trump ‘not going anywhere’ and jailing him would ‘inflame supporters’

Sky News Washington Correspondent Annelise Nielsen says Donald Trump is “not going anywhere” for the Republicans and jailing him would “just inflame supporters” of him even more. Former US president Donald Trump has been found guilty on all 34 counts in his New York hush money case. Sentencing is set for July 11. “Donald Trump is not going anywhere for the Republicans,” Ms Nielsen told Sky News host James Morrow. “This case doesn’t mean he’s going anywhere for this upcoming election. “When we’re talking about the theoretical prospect of him being in a jail cell, it would take an extraordinary read of sentencing guidelines to put him in a jail cell – I think that would have a real chance of just inflaming supporters of Donald Trump even more than they already are.”
