Trump reiterates warning to Hamas if hostages are not released by inauguration

Former Labor MP Michael Danby has commented on Donald Trump's warning to Hamas, stating the pressure from the incoming US President appears to be a factor in the negotiations to release Israeli hostages. It comes as Trump on Tuesday reiterated that "all hell will break out" if Hamas does not return Israeli hostages before his inauguration. “It's getting us to the starting blocks,” Mr Danby told Sky News host James Morrow. "Now, the problem is that Hamas wants a huge number of political prisoners that have been convicted of capital crimes. It wants to substitute live hostages for the bodies of hostages who passed away. “So all of these things are still problematic, but it's the Trump pressure that's counting.”
