Trump repeats 25% tariff threat after last week’s meeting with Trudeau
Incoming U.S. president Donald Trump reiterated his threat of a 25 per cent tariff on Canadian goods. Trump has pledged to impose a 25 per cent tariff on all goods from Mexico and Canada unless those countries stop illegal immigration and the flow of illegal drugs such as fentanyl into the United States. And on Sunday, during an interview with NBC, he defended the tariffs, saying they “are going to make us rich.” In the same meeting, Trump also detailed what he told Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during a meeting between the two leaders last week.
