Former President Donald Trump is projected to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris to take the White House for a second non-consecutive term, winning all the swing states as well as the popular vote. The GOP also appears poised to win the senate. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday dismissed his popular defense minister, Yoav Gallant, in a surprise announcement that came as the country is embroiled in wars on multiple fronts across the region. The move sparked protests throughout Israel. And Hurricane Rafael strengthened to a category 2 storm on Wednesday just before it was expected to make landfall in western Cuba.
