Turkiye local elections: Istanbul key battleground for country's future

Turkiye is preparing for local elections on Sunday. Istanbul is a key battleground and whoever wins the city could dictate the country's future. Incumbent Ekrem Imamoglu is hoping to be re-elected as mayor. If he wins, that would deliver a blow to the ruling AK party and could set him up as frontrunner in the 2028 presidential elections.
