UCC bans vulgar music - Regulator vows to deport international acts violating ethical broadcasting

Effective Tuesday 12th December 2024, The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) will deport any international artists performing or promoting explicit or highly sexualized music and film content that breach the ethical standards of broadcasting. In the same regard, UCC vows to revoke licenses and apprehend transmitters of media houses that continue to broadcasting vulgar content. The commission has hereby suspended the broadcast of audio and videos of songs enkudi, okwepicha and omunyongo weggulu in a bid to protect the innocence of children that use these broadcast channels.
