Uganda calls for reforms at the UN to secure permanent membership for African countries

President Yoweri Museveni has urged the United Nations General Assembly to swiftly consider granting African countries permanent membership on the UN Security Council, compete with veto powers. The Security Council comprises 15 members, including five permanent members: China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, alongside ten non-permanent members elected for two-year terms.
