Uganda loses UGX 255B to tech scams, upgrades needed

The national money laundering task force says criminals are using technology to hack into the Uganda Revenue system and statistics to commit tax-related crimes. Between 2017 and 2020, the tax authority reported that 255 billion shillings lost to these scams have since been recovered.
