Uganda to host the African Union Extraordinary Summit on the CAADP agenda

Uganda is set to host the African Union Extraordinary Summit on the CAADP agenda from 9th to 11th January 2025 in Kampala. The Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries, Frank Tumwebaze, who is also a member of the AU Specialized Technical Committee on Agriculture, has emphasized that the summit will make landmark decisions that will shape Africa’s agri-food systems transformation for the next decade. The summit, which will mark the adoption of the new 10-year CAADP Strategy and Action Plan for 2026-2035, as well as the Kampala CAADP Declaration, is jointly organized by the African Union and the Republic of Uganda.
