The Chairperson of the National Council for Higher Education, Prof. Eli Katunguka Rwakishaya, has called on all universities to deliberately increase the number of PhDs, as this will help stimulate national and economic development. Uganda, he says, has only 2,200 PhDs, yet according to the National Council of Science and Technology, Uganda needs over 10,000, meaning there is a gap of over 8,000 PhDs. He made these remarks at the 5th annual conference of the National Council for Higher Education meeting in Mbale, aimed at fostering graduate employability and innovation. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda
