UK and Australia announce plans for a first-of-its-kind defence treaty

Defence ministers of Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States have met in London to reaffirm their commitment to the AUKUS trilateral security pact. It comes after Australia and the UK revealed plans to work towards a first-of-its kind treaty, designed to speed up the delivery of a next generation nuclear-powered submarine fleet.
