UK to be a stronger international partner
Fresh off the delivery of the budget in the UK, Barbados has been told an economically stable United Kingdom will make it a stronger and more credible international partner. Deputy British High Commissioner to Barbados, Charley Williams in dissecting the presentation by Chancellor, Rachel Reeves says measures introduced are aimed at putting the UK economy back on a sustainable footing and driving investment to push growth. She says Britain will remain one of the largest providers of overseas development assistance. Ms. Williams was a guest on CBC TV8's Mornin' Barbados. Despite the announcement of tax rises and a hike in air passenger for a short-haul flights and private jet users, Ms. Williams doesn't expect the measures will impact travel.
