Deputy Liberal Leader Sussan Ley believes “boots on the ground” in Ukraine for a peacekeeping mission would be “better handled by Europe” than Australia. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has held virtual talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and European leaders who have dubbed themselves the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ on Ukraine. The Prime Minister has repeated his calls that he will consider sending Australian peacekeepers to Ukraine. “We’ll always stand with Ukraine against the illegal and immoral invasion,” Mr Ley told Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell. “We think, though, that when it comes to boots on the ground, this is a matter better handled by Europe.”
