UN addresses the media in the wake of Israeli attacks in Sanaa and ports along Yemen's west coa
UN spokesperson Stephanie Tremblay stated that the situation in Yemen is especially alarming. According to reports, Israeli airstrikes resulted in numerous casualties, including at least three people killed and dozens more injured. A United Nations humanitarian air service crew member was also injured when the airport was hit. A high-level UN delegation, led by World Health Organization Director General Dr. Tedros, was at the airport during the strikes. The delegation had just concluded discussions on Yemen's humanitarian situation and the release of UN and other detained personnel.
