UN climate summits 'no longer fit for purpose', says key experts

This year's United Nations’ COP climate talks in Azerbaijan is facing criticism from former leaders and environmental campaigners. An open letter to the United Nations, signed by more than 20 experts, former leaders and scientists, including former UN chief, Ban Ki-Moon have claimed the summit is unfit for purpose and needs overhauling. It called for the process to be streamlined and for countries to be held accountable for their promises.
