UN urges reversal of funding pause for Palestinian refugee agency
The United Nations and other aid agencies have urged countries to reverse their decision to suspend funds to the UN's Palestinian refugee agency. At least nine countries -- including the top five donors like the US and Germany, as well as the UK, Australia and Japan -- said they are suspending or reviewing their donations to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. This, after Israel claimed that some staff were involved in the 7 October Hamas attack. The UNRWA has fired several staffers suspected of involvement and is investigating the allegations.
