Understanding stroke prevention and recovery techniques critical

On this World Stroke Day, Barbados has been advised understanding stroke prevention and recovery techniques are crucial to help survivors rebuild their lives. The impact on young Barbadians was also highlighted by Occupational Therapist, Jackie Agard-Spencer, who says the condition is being seen more in younger patients. She says many of the cases need individual attention and providing aftercare is a challenge. Two young survivors, Sherry Griffith-Currency and Chad Burrowes-Gill have been telling their stories as they play their part in raising awareness. They agree maintaining a positive mindset helped in the recovery.
