According to World Bank findings, the unemployment rate in Uganda remained unchanged at 2.90 percent in 2023 from 2.90 percent in 2022. Unemployment Rate in Uganda averaged 3.16 percent from 1991 until 2023, reaching an all-time high of 3.80 percent in 2020 and a record low of 1.90% in 2005. Over the last decade, there has been rapid growth in the Ugandan labor force. More than a million young people are entering the job market each year in the country. But this has not been met with a commensurate increase in the number of formal jobs available.
