The UPDF and the Fisheries Protection Unit have burnt illegal fishing gear valued at 1.4 billion shillings at the Kamina Landing site on Lake Albert in Kagadi District. The operation was led by the FPU commander in charge of the Ntoroko-Kagadi sector, Lt. Musa Shaban, who said the gears were confiscated from fishermen in the ongoing operation to curb illegal fishing on Lake Albert.
