US Congressional delegation visit significant
The US Congressional delegation's visit to Barbados to commemorate the 58th Anniversary of Independence and the 100th birthday of Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm must not be taken for granted. That is according to Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley who says it was not easy getting the officials to come to the island last weekend to commemorate the historical events. She was speaking during a reception at the United States Ambassador's residence. Meanwhile, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Steven Horsford says the Congressional leaders are committed to a stronger partnership with Barbadians and to living the legacy of the deceased Barbadian-American Congresswoman. He is also praising Prime Minister Mottley's leadership of Barbados.
