The Pentagon said Sunday it will deploy a high-altitude anti-missile system and its US military crew to Israel to help the ally protect itself from potential Iranian missile attacks Pentagon spokesperson Pat Ryder said the deployment of the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) battery would augment Israel's integrated air defence system. The Israeli military warned several southern Lebanese communities near the border to leave their homes Tuesday, shortly after starting what it called a limited operation against Hezbollah targets.
