US-made weapons potentially used by IDF in Rafah
There is growing pressure on America diplomatically as Israel’s attacks on Gaza continue. Following a renewed assault on the city of Rafah which resulted in the death of 45 people, it has emerged that US-made weapons may have been used by the Israeli Defence Force. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement in which he labelled the strikes on the Rafah camp as a “tragic mistake”. The United Nations is preparing for another ceasefire vote as the civilian casualty toll in Gaza Rises. “Words cannot capture the sense of loss the families who live were shattered by this tragic incident,” said US Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Robert Wood. “The continued pattern of significant civilian harm resulting from incidents like Sunday’s airstrikes undermines Israel’s strategic goals in Gaza.” Powerful Republican Senators like Lindsey Graham make it very hard for US President Joe Biden to shift position. Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has also been in Israel where she sent her own personal message to Gaza on a missile.
