US prosecutors detail new evidence in Trump election subversion case

The man leading the case against former US President Donald Trump for trying to overturn the 2020 election result has outlined his “sweeping and increasingly desperate” efforts to cling to power. In a new 165-page filing with the court in Washington DC, special counsel Jack Smith says Trump lied to the public, to election officials and even his own vice President.
