US Secret Service shoots man near White House

The US Secret Service claims it has shot a man close to the White House after what it called an “armed confrontation”. The Secret Service revealed they were tipped off by local authorities in Indiana about a man making his way to Washington DC. Secret Service members found the person’s car parked a block from the White House, about a five-minute walk from the President’s executive office. When Secret Service addressed the man, he brandished a weapon, and shots were fired. The man is now in hospital in an unknown condition.
