Students of the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill are being given a platform to showcase their innovative business ideas through the Student Entrepreneurial Empowerment Development or SEED Project. It was designed to develop self-reliance, innovation and entrepreneurship. The latest winners were awarded during a ceremony Wednesday. Among those in the winners row were Kayla Griffith of Oasis Blooms who walked away with the top prize. First runner-up was Kemal Brathwaite of KDL Music. Deputy Principal of the UWI Cave Hill Campus, Professor Winston Moore says the university continues to impact the development of Barbados. He says what the seed students are embarking on is significant. CIBC is a partner in the SEED Programme. Director of Retail Banking Channels, Michelle Whitelaw says it underscores the relationship the bank has forged with UWI over the years.
