Vancouver artist and activist passes away at age 67

Local Vancouver artist and 2SLGBTQ+ advocate Joe Average died on Christmas Eve at the age of 67. When he was 27, he learned he was HIV-positive and that made him pursue his dream of being an artist. Appointed to both the Order of B.C. and the Order of Canada, his art is well known and has been featured on a Canadian stamp and on a loonie.
