Vaping has led to 'extraordinary' dependence in 'young Australians'

Australian Medical Association President Professor Steve Robson says vaping has led to “extraordinary” levels of dependence in “young Australians”. These comments come ahead of a vote on the federal government's anti-vaping crackdown in parliament this week. “The issue we see at the moment is that vapes have been overtaken from their original purpose,” Professor Robson told Sky News Australia. “They were designed to be a temporary smoking cessation aid for heavy smokers. “Unfortunately, vapes … have led to extraordinary levels of dependence in young Australians.”
