Vendors report significant drop in fish sales
Vendors are beginning to report a significant drop in fish sales, even for the traditional off-peak season, after Hurricane Beryl smashed a significant number of fishing vessels in Barbados. They are now relying, mostly, on frozen stocks in order to ply their trade, since the category four hurricane passed to the south of the island on July 1st. Some, like Jemma Harris, selling at the Bridgetown Fisheries Complex, are encouraging consumers not to shy away from buying frozen fish, noting it's been quite slow recently.
