VERNE GARDE APPOINTED NEW ACTING POLICE COMMISSIONER

The Royal St. Lucia Police Force welcomes a new police commissioner, following the departure of former top cop Crusita Descartes Pelius. Although Saint Lucia has experienced a decline in overall crime in the first half of 2024, the issues of homicides and illegal guns persist as pressing concerns. The new commissioner will serve a six-month term, tasked with addressing these critical challenges.
