Veteran journalist and broadcaster George Negus dies aged 82

Veteran journalist and broadcaster George Negus has died aged 82 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mr Negus' family issued a statement saying George “passed away peacefully today surrounded by loved ones”. They also thanked healthcare workers for supporting him during his final moments. The veteran journalist was widely considered one of the finest reporters to grace Australian television screens.
