Victoria’s police union has declared morale is “hopeless” and its stations are “threadbare” as members escalate industrial action, targeting the state Labor government. More than 17,000 Victorian police officers have launched a new round of industrial action in a long-running and bitter pay dispute. The officers are demanding a 24 per cent pay rise and better working conditions. They have refused the state government’s previous offer of a 16 per cent increase.
