Former Howard government minister Peter McGauran says the “disunity” and “distraction” in the Victorian Liberal Party has been resolved. Victorian Shadow Police Minister Brad Battin was chosen as the new leader of the party, and former tennis player Sam Groth was chosen as his deputy. The state Liberals also decided to vote back exiled MP Moira Deeming into the party room. “The disunity, the disruption, the distraction, the internal dissent all within the Victorian Liberal Party seems to have been resolved,” Mr McGauran told Sky News Australia.
