Village of Pemberton declares state of emergency due to flooding

Flooding has forced the Village of Pemberton, B.C., to declare a state of emergency. A number of properties in the community about 30 kilometres north of Whistler have been ordered to evacuate, while others are under evacuation alert. Meanwhile, Squamish residents are also bracing for another big storm. A flood warning is in effect for the Squamish River and tributaries and it has the community on edge.
