Visas reinstated for Palestinians entering Australia

The federal government has reversed its decision to cancel visas for several Palestinians attempting to enter Australia. More than 10 Palestinians had their visas cancelled due to concerns over their future plans in Australia. An internal government source claims eight of them have had their visas reinstated after further security checks. This comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledges to move forward with an offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah. Calls have been made for an immediate ceasefire, as Gaza health authorities report more than 31,500 Palestinians had been killed in Israeli attacks on the region.
