A vote to impeach South Korea’s President has failed after a majority of MPs in the nation’s ruling People Power Party boycotted the proceedings. The President is facing pressure to resign for putting the country under martial law earlier in the week only to backtrack on the ruling six hours later. Protesters gathered outside the national assembly in Seoul calling for lawmakers to vote on the impeachment.
