Warmest August since 1910 boosts retail spending

The Australian Bureau of Statistics confirmed it was the warmest August since 1910 which boosted retail spending. Australian Retailers Association CEO Paul Zahra told Sky News Australia “we saw all the summer merchandise going in and we also saw the fact that the weather was warmer” which made retailers “delighted”. His remarks come after the retail turnover was revealed to be up by 0.7 per cent month-on-month with the annual rate of spending also increasing to 3.1 per cent.
