Warning signs from Minnesota voters to Trump and Biden | Talking Points

07/03/24

Will Minnesota be a swing state in the 2024 general election? Super Tuesday is in the books, with sweeping wins of all contests by President Joe Biden and a crushing performance by former President Donald Trump, who won every contest except for Vermont. On the Democratic side, Biden won 69% of the vote but, in a surprise, the "uncommitted" vote came in second with 19%. This is seen to be largely in protest of Biden's handling of the Israel-Hamas war. What's not clear is where the "uncommitted" votes on the Democratic side and the Haley votes for the GOP will end up in the general election. In this episode of 'Talking Points,' WCCO's Esme Murphy talks through general election scenarios with Hamline Professor David Schultz. She also talks strategy with political analysts Abou Amara and Amy Koch.
