The last supermoon of 2024 dazzled the skies of Venezuela on Friday (November 15) as the 'beaver moon' rose high over Caracas city. In Caracas, people gathered at lookouts to attempt to capture the moment on camera and enjoy the shining moon. A full moon is classified as a supermoon when it reaches its closest point to Earth in its orbit, appearing up to 7% larger in diameter as seen from the ground in comparison to an average sized full moon. The name "Beaver Moon" corresponds to all full moons occurring in November. They are believed to be named that way to reflect the increased activities of beavers around that time of year.
