Welfare Dept. urged to evolve to meet needs of society

Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Kirk Humphrey, says the Welfare Department must be prepared to change as society and circumstances do. He believes it must evolve to deliver the kind of services the country now demands. Mr. Humphrey was speaking during the Welfare Department's public lecture at the Courtney Blackman Grande Salle. He revealed it has spent about two million dollars on grants alone, over the past few years.
