WFP warns of potential famine in Haiti amid gang violence and homelessness

Widespread gang violence and homelessness in Haiti are making it increasingly difficult to find food. Nearly 2 million people face emergency conditions. The UN World Food Programme warns that without urgent humanitarian action, Haiti could face famine. Currently, 5 million people are acutely food insecure, with 1.6 million in emergency conditions—the highest since the 2010 earthquake.
