What a US port strike could mean for inflation, holiday shopping

Dockworkers across the eastern United States are on strike for the first time in decades, as a fresh wave of labour action grips North American supply chains. Workers at 36 U.S. ports from Maine to Texas took to the picket lines early Tuesday over wages and automation after their contract expired at midnight. Labour action has also partially shut down the Port of Montreal, which is Canada’s second largest port.
